Reginald C. Quirk was born in West London in 1953, and brought into the Lutheran Church through the Sunday School of St Andrew’s, Ruislip. He is married, with two daughters and one grandchild. His loyalties have remained since childhood at Fulham FC, where he is a season ticket holder.

Revd Quirk was educated for the Holy Ministry at Westfield House, the theological college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of England (ELCE) in Cambridge. Ordained in 1977, he served congregations in London and Plymouth before being called Cambridge in 1989 to be Preceptor of Westfield House. He has an M.Phil. in New Testament studies from the University of Cambridge. In addition to this teaching work, he has been the called pastor of Resurrection since 1999. In 2001 he was also elected Chairman of the ELCE.
